Undergraduate

Division I Undergraduate is a separate division within the Division I framework. Teams competing in this division compete alongside Division I Open teams and are eligible to win the Division I title.

All NAQT Sectional Championship Tournaments (SCTs) as well as the Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT) award distinct Division I Undergraduate championships.

Students qualify to play in Division I Undergraduate if they meet these requirements:

  1. They do not possess a degree at the Bachelor's level or higher from any post-secondary educational institution.
  2. They have not completed their fourth distinct academic year of competition in NAQT collegiate championship events (that is, SCTs and ICTs).

A team qualifies to play in Division I Undergraduate if all of its members do.

In short, the policy is that a student may continue to play Division I Undergraduate until he or she graduates or four years pass, whichever comes first.

NAQT has a collection of Frequently Asked Questions about Eligibility.
