The High School National Championship Tournament (HS NCT) is NAQT's premier event. The tournament is held at the end of each school year and features the top high school quiz bowl teams from across the United States.

Teams qualify for the HS NCT by their performance at tournaments held throughout the year using questions supplied by NAQT. A list of upcoming events may be found on NAQT's website.

In addition to recognizing the overall winner as the NAQT High School Champion, the highest-finishing public high school with 500 or fewer students and a non-selective admission policy will be honored as the Top Small School.

The 2008 HS NCT will be held at Chicago's Wyndham O'Hare hotel on May 23-25, 2008.
